Centre for Business Process Outsourcing

The UK's first research establishment dedicated to helping the Business Process Outsourcing industry meet the demands of an increasingly competitive and fast-growing market.

The centre drives innovation through access to world class expertise and leading-edge thinking in a broad range of management sciences. It also seeks to discover fundamental insights required to enhance both the value of service and quality of employment offered by the industry. Research findings from the work of the centre are made commercially available to the local as well as international industry.

Look Who's Talking - Alchemy Plus

Steve Chisholm, CEO of Alchemy Plus, recalls how Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) brokered a "fantastic relationship" between the company and the Centre for Business Process Outsourcing (CBPO) which is a £900,000 strategic project involving the University of Strathclyde Collaborative Training Account (CTA), HIE and CCA.

RESEARCH

The CBPO carries out different types of research activities, ranging from pure academic research to contract research applied to industrial settings. The main activities of the centre can be divided into two main areas:

CBPO staff is a mixture of academics and practitioners working together to solve theoretical as well as practical problems. Our multidisciplinary and multicultural staff is available for consultation to industry in a wide variety of areas.
