The Centre for Business Process Outsourcing has offices in the Highland and Islands region (Invergordon) and in Glasgow, at the University of Strathclyde.
The CBPO is managed by the centre manager, who works in close contact with the industry and the academics involved in the CBPO research. He is responsible for managing all CBPO activities. Advised by the scientific committee he sets the research strategies and manages the research activities, coordinating and monitoring the work of the research group. He directly reports to the directors of the centre who represent the academic directors of the CBPO. They have a continuous and open interaction with the manager of the centre, advising and supporting him (and the research group) on such issues as: the most appropriate research methodologies and strategies, relevant research possibilities, etc. In addition a group of academics rotate around the centre, participating and influencing the research carried out.
A steering committee meets every three months to monitor the progress of the CBPO research activities against the defined objectives and provide feedback on the on-going activities.
Last, the CBPO is advised by an Advisory Panel consisting of academics, industrialists
and representative from the Contact Centre Association, all with
leading-edge expertise in Business Process Outsourcing. The Advisory
Panel meets twice a year to provide thought leadership on short
and long term research and development priorities on BPO.
