Study of Sourcing Practices and Outsourcing Trends
The Centre for Business Process Outsourcing (University of Strathclyde) is launching a new research project aimed at observing outsourcing practices and trends.
The trend for outsourcing business processes and services to a third party is growing and the CBPO wish to investigate and understand the opportunities outsourcing can offer micro-businesses through to large corporations.
The CBPO research team have developed an initial set of questions and designed an electronic questionnaire to facilitate data gathering. Filling out the questionnaire is easy and it should take about 10 minutes. Questions are split into three main sections:
- Personal data: about yourself
- Organisation data: about the company you work for
- Outsourcing data: about your company’s outsourcing practices and your views about outsourcing tools/methods
Data gathered will be used to inform a wide range of CBPO on-going research activities. We intend to use this electronic questionnaire to continuously monitor the industry and spot emerging trends as well as opportunities for continuous improvements and new business models.
Personal data will be kept confidential at all times, and at no time will it be possible for anybody else (including the partner organisations listed below) to link specific answers to the person/s providing those answers.
All participating respondents will receive at no cost a brief report detailing the findings from this study. Deadline for distribution will be set and communicated once we will reach the desired number of participants. Non-participating companies may purchase the same report. Results will also be published in major international academic and scientific journals.
